Have you ever wondered about New York City’s haunted past? In a city with 400-year-old streets, there are bound to be chilling ghost stories. Venture to the most haunted house in Manhattan, the Merchant’s House Museum in the East Village. Book the 50-minute candlelight tour that tells the tale of Gertrude Treadwell, the youngest daughter of the Treadwell family who inhabited the house for over 100 years. Supposedly, she still watches over the place. Experience the mysterious past and the spooky present while touring the old home. Voices have been heard whispering in the hallways and doors have been known to slam autonomously. Enter if you dare! We can’t think of a better way to get into the Halloween spirit. Pick up the booklet, Some Say They Never Left: Spirited Tales and Ghostly Legends of the Merchant’s House Museum, as an NYC keepsake before heading back to Hotel Henri for some rooftop relaxation and recounting the day's excitement over some hand-poured libations.
