It's that swingy time of year again! Be instantly transported to the 1920's at the 13th annual Jazz Age Lawn Party. It’s hard to believe it’s been going on for 13 years, but the popularity keeps on increasing and each year is better attended. It’s genuinely becoming a New York summer staple and the longest running event to ever take place on Governors Island. Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra set the scene for a beautifully authentic experience. Just scroll through the photos on Instagram for wonderfully ornate costumes and inspiring videos of people retro dancing the afternoon away. VieVité Côtes de Provence Rosé will be served as well as fresh summer cocktails like the Aperol Spritz. However, not everyone knows that you can book the private “Sheikh of Araby” tents for up to 15 guests and drink conspicuously alongside the dance floor. After all, nothing is more 1920’s than sharing a secret drink with friends and dancing like no one is watching. There will be vendors, lawn games, and even vintage portraits.
